“Salman Khan is the Raja Hindustani of Bollywood today” – Karisma Kapoor

Judwaa 2 is being made as well. Like I spoke to Varun recently, he said that 'Tan Tana Tan' will be retained in the film. Are you excited about a movie that you were part of is being remade?
Well absolutely, with the combination of David Ji, Sajid and now Varun, the next generation, I think it's gonna be really fun. I am looking forward to it.

In fact all your fans keep tweeting all the time that when are you making a comeback? You're looking amazing right now as well.
Well, thank you so much, but I've not decided anything yet. I think in my life I've never really planned anything, jo kuch hua hai it's been destiny. So I think jab mujhe koi achi film pasand aaye, if I like a script I may do it If not maybe not, I don't know (Laughs!). I am not sure.

Okay Karisma, we would like to do a rapid fire round with you!
Okay!

Who according to you is the current Raja Hindustani of Bollywood?
Oh my god! (Laughs!), I can't answer that, I've so many friends, actors who are friends and who're working now. But definitely, I have to say Salman Khan.

Raja Hindustani was the first big film as an actress, you were acknowledged for it big time.
Thank you so much, I think there have been a few others also apart form that. I think 1996 was a career defining year for me. We had a Jeet also followed by Raja Hindustani, but I'd like to say just one thing that all my films have contributed to my career. I don't want to name just super-hit films or blockbusters. I think every movie that I've acted in; each film that I've been a part of has been a stepping stone to achieve something in life.

If given a chance to star in a remake of your film; which film it would be?
Oh My God! That's a very interesting question. Umm! (Thinks!) I don't know. Okay, I would say Andaaz Apna Apna. I want to do that all over again (Laughs).

A song of yours that you think still tops the playlist of many?
Definitely, 'Le Gayi Le Gayi', and I think there have been so many songs. I've been lucky to have so many great songs but 'Le Gayi Le Gayi' is one song that wherever I go I always hear that.

From your first film till now who has been your favorite co-star?
Very difficult question and I am not answering it. I have many favorite co-stars. What is unique is that I've shared a great chemistry on-screen and off-screen, great friendships, great camaraderie that has gone 20-25 years. We all started our careers together, and I am so happy to see them doing so well and doing such a great job.

Who according to your will suit the best opposite Varun Dhawan in Judwaa 2?
Oh my god! That's a tough question, I really don't know, I can't answer that. Give me some suggestions. It would be nice to see Alia Bhatt to do a role like that. A little more bubbly and fun, a little more desi commercial.

Being half Sindhi, what has been your favorite delicacy?
(Laughs!) I don't know how many people ask me a Punjabi question, but that's a really good one. I'll share a secret with you that I eat Papad every day. So I think I like Sindhi Curry and Papad.

Great, Raja Hindustani, Dil Toh Pagal Hai or Jaanwar; pick your favorite one?
I've too many favorites, like I told you I can't name any particular. I shouldn't name like I said that they've all contributed to my career. So I don't want to just pick a favorite.

An actor from the current slot you would love to work with?
Wow! Maybe Ranveer Singh.

A genre of films you always wanted to be a part of but never got a chance?
Again, I'll say that I've been very lucky in my career that I got a chance to do commercial films and at the same time, meaningful cinema like Fiza and Zubeida and even women centric films, commercial films like Biwi No 1, they were commercial movies but were around a woman's central character. So in that sense I don't think I've missed out.

What has been the best thing about your Bollywood career?
I think I've really enjoyed the experiences I've had; my entire Bollywood career has made me a better person. And it's literally been a stepping stone, I've grown up in this industry and that's what been so special, people, the audience, the industry, my co-stars, directors, technicians, they have shown me so much love and respect and I've gained that over the years. I started my career when I was 16 years old, straight out of school, I've literally grown up here and I think It has been an amazing experience which I wouldn't trade for anything.
